Need a rant

Right sorry guys but I need a bit of a rant. I'm 'looking' for a job. Was meant to have an interview this morning but got halfway there before I found out it was cancelled as person was ill. This cost me £6.70 to go on a train a few stops and come back (which I can't really afford at the moment- but anyway).
I just don't know what I want to do- I've been thinking of getting an admin job but I know people think this is beneath me. I have a 2:2 in maths and computing from a good uni. Went to an interview and was told job was beneath me.
Thinking of going into accounts as I love finance but have limited work experience and none in accounts and with a 2:2 it seems I can't get on to graduate entry schemes.
I don't drive.
I don't want to commute too far. I live in a big town and there are quite a few other big towns around I can commute to on the train within 20 mins.
I am a complete MSE fanatic- I can talk interest rates, current accounts, ISA,regular savers, credit cards, etc, etc all day every day. It is my passion in life. I love charts and spreadsheets and things like that.
So basically what can I do:
apply for admin jobs that are beneath me (apparently)
hope and pray and run out of money (the current option)
can't get on graduate trainee jobs as 2:2
etc

Anybody help. P.S I suffer from depression. I was extremely ill when doing my A-Levels and my degree and have found the perfect job for me but it would mean a 1.5 hour commute each way 3 times a week. I am trying to find a job but really lack in confidence that it will be too hard for me and I will get ill again. (- am crying now - feel like such a failure). All I want is to earn some money to pay the bills and so that I can save it in the best interest rate and shuffle it about :( (ironic smile)

Thanks guys for reading.

p.s I hate not being able to feel I can pay the bills without getting into a worse mess. I posted this here as I hang out here and am not sure people would be so kind on the jobs board- thanks.

    Hi fairy!
No job is beneath you when you're in debt or need money!
plus it's not like you're planning to do that job all your working life!
Just getting back is the most important step right now, it's always easier to find a job when you've GOT a job!

You are NOT a failure, tell those who say it's beneath you "No!, sitting in home worrying is beneath you!"

I think you need to go and speak to a good recruitment agency or maybe a careers advisor?
I've been in my current job 4 weeks now (yay!) after being unemployed and temping since Sept last year. I had a planned break but found it hard to find a new perm job - so I went temping instead! That company offered me a job - lower paid than my original job but I would have accepted it gladly because I liked it there! However after months of no job offers I suddenly had 3! I accepted the middle paid one as I think it has the best long term oppertunerties... However I never had the confidence that I could do a job like this. I have no experience in this field and I do have to play a LOT of catch up! My OH thankfully is very supportive and kept telling me to go for it - if anyone could do this then I could!
So I went for the interview with the attitude that what I didn't know I could darned well learn - and i got 3 offers so it must have worked!
Don't loose hope! But do go and find some temp work - it looks much better to have kept yourself busy and often temp jobs can progress into perm jobs and take you in directions you might never have thought about before.
    Good luck!

thanks. I did apply to 2 building societies but not enough customer service experience and they wanted 4 years worth of references which I didn't have as before I went to uni I was variously, unemployed, working part time, unemployed(but not claiming benefits), temping etc and due to the mental health problems the records are not that great. :( P.S MY dream job is the admin assistant working for Martin - trouble is it's a 70- 90 min. commute - just wish I could do that.

Think I shall have another look at the banks though.

P.S It's not me that thinks the jobs are beneath me it's my mum, and some of the agency, people that have interviewed me for jobs. Frankly I don't care, but I have had my share of filing over the last 4-5 weeks in various different places.

Thanks Linda will have a look there now.
