Help with choosing a digital camera

Hi folks
First post so apologies if it's not in the right area!
I'm looking for a new cheapy digital camera for under £80ish but I'm not too knowledgeable on the subject and am looking for advice. I'm looking for a camera for going backpacking in the summer. I will need it to be slim as well as having good optical zoom and obviously taking good pictures. I hope it would also be good for pictures with moving scenes. My partner will also use it for her special effects make up course so will need it to take high detail closeups without the flash messing about (like the current camera!). Battery life is kind of important too.
I was previously thinking of getting the Samsung i6 for £79.99 on Play.com, but am now considering the Fujifilm Finepix Z5fd, which is on offer in store at Sainsbury's for £49.99! Open to other suggestions though, as I'm not too clued up on the subject.
Thanks!
Will

I had a mail today from 7dayshop and they are doing cashback on a variety of Canons. May be worth a look. I presume other retailers will be as well. It's my problem, it's my problem

And it's my problem if I have no friends

Is Amazon a "participating retailer" for this cashback offer? I can't seem to find any info in the T&Cs or claim form

Edit - just phoned Canon, they say Amazon is fine (though no info on Amazon's site yet) so I've ordered an A560 :j0
