Prepayment RIP OFF!

Hi All,
I have just had a convo with a woman at EDF energy - my supplier. I am on a prepayment meter at the moment and she has just told me that over the last month I have had to top up £75. Which is £900 a year!!!
Now to me £75 seems like an extortionate amount of money to be paying out every month on a two bedroom flat.
I feel like I am being royally ripped off - PLEASE HELP!!
I don't know what supplier to look at or what to try to do...I can't afford to pay this amount a year!
Any money saving tips or advice would be greatly appreciated as I don't know what to do next?
Thanks muchly,
P.S I do hate bank charges!

Try EBICo: http://www.ebico.co.uk/html/home.php They claim not to charge extra for prepayment meters. And they're pretty cheap in relation to the rest of the market. We've been using them for a number of years - no complaints. I think they resell Southern Electric electricity and gas. So the billing and customer service all comes direct from SE - you just pay significantly less than the other SE customers! K.0

That does seem ridiculously expensive. Do you use storage heaters or have the heating on alot? Do you know if you are on economy 7?
Prepayment meters are a bloomin` rip off but that is definately a heck of a lot to pay out every month
I used to spend £10-£12 a week on prepayment EDF but never used the storage heaters, boosted hot water& did washing at night and only ran a small electric heater which was rubbish and we were always freezing!0 -
Just had a good browse of the website, was checking out the price of the Electricity..since December EON installed a new prepayment meter in my home despite me having no bad debts with them..have used 455.77 Kw of electricity which has cost me £145 so far in prepayment, had a look on the Ebico website..they would have only charged me £47.80 for the same electricity usage as above.
Hmm me thinks I will be changing over very soon0 -

It won't be £75 every month. Just during the winter!!!:j0 -
Thanks everyone.
Well the woman at EDF did say that I was averaging £55 a month.
I dont have heaters - and I am freezing all the time. I dont turn on my hot water and I do my washing whilst im sleeping.
I cant see how they can charge so much! Will have a look at that website though - thanks:T0
