Need a cable to connect laptop to TV

I have a laptop and want to watch movies on our LCD TV.

Would anyone know if the cable in the link attached would work or is it a different sort of cable that I need and if so can anybody recommend one.

Yup, that lead is spot on. Worth just checking that the "VGA" connector on your telly has holes rather than pins so that the cable will fit! Also, be aware that that cable is only for picture - not sound. One of these:

should get sound coming from your telly (or hifi if you're so inclined).

Same problem for me but is there a cable that sends sound and picture in one go, what about a HDMI cable as my laptop and tv both have the HDMI slot.

Yes - I believe it does. Which laptop is it - I have not heard of this yet.
