    Hi jackie,
if you have already had your logins sent you should have also received an email from your trainer(i got mine a week before training started) which will detail everything you need to know for training - e.g times, duration and the telephone number you need to dial to access the audio training. have you checked your bulk email folder for this??
are you training for the sales or tech position? for training you are supposed to log on via web browser in meeting place. However, my group were unable to do this and had to go through workbooth.

I didn't know anything about a 'preferred phone' so I'll be out at Currys or the likes looking for an Opticom 210 or whatever it was that you guys mention.

Hiya, I thought we got the phone with a phone keypad for free!!! I am sure someone on here said that recently!!!

snoop the opticom 210 is the one i got £7 ish from Argos. You will get the headset and keypad but not until you are in 3rd week of training. its best to have a wired phone with speakerphone for training. if you have a cordless one it will run out of battery whilst still in the training session. Also if you have a corded phone without the speakerphone you will have to hold the receiver to your ear for 4 hours straight (not fun!).

Hey Specsappeal I just did a search for the 210, thanks matey!! will go and buy it 2moro if they have it stock!!! Gosh it really is costing me!! I bought a router that didn't work!!! but my pc passed the test with the Bt home hub i had lying around untouched. didn't know it was dual!!!! what an idot I am, hope I can return the Netgear 2moro!!! it cost me £60.00!!!!

if wasn't for this thread , I would be totally dam lost!!!

Thanks for the info. hope I don't have any problems with speaker phone!!
  • no problem snoop - i am also running the homehub. if i knew you had one laying around i would have told you it was ok lol. im sure argos will have the opticom in as its just a basic phone. it will do just fine for your first few weeks of training.
  • erm, we got our telephones and headsets by the end of week one, not week 3.

i wouldnt recommend anyone buying a phone specifacally, unless you only have a cordless one, as you are not allowed to use one like this for training.

    Hey specappeal,

Had my final hire process today with Ellen and she did say the headset and phone pad will be sent to me week 3!!!!

just waiting for workbooth and contract now.

Yeah what a bummer about the router eh!!! could have kicked me self when I found out. lol. I just have to send off the BDO with the copies of docs and then hopefully all will be well.

oh yeah gonna buy that phone next week!!! and Ellen asked me if I wanted to do more hours, she said if I wanted to, to discuss this with the recruiter in training. But for now I am happy with the 20 hours to begin with.
  • hey snoop. well done you! hate to burst your bubble but the minimum hours are actually 22. at the start i was told 19 hours. in second interview this went up to 22 then i had my schedule and it was up to 25! one woman in my training group was given 28 hours after being told it would only be 22. however i immediately emailed my trainier and my recruiter and my hours were reduced to the 22 i had agreed to.
    when does your training start??

    Cheers specsappeal!!

burst my bubble, nah no way!!! hahahh. Hey due to my disability I was able to have a lengthy convo about the hours and she was very happy for me to do 20 hours and if I wanted to I could later increase them. As a disabled new employee they can make allowances for people like me!!!!.

orginally she was happy for me to work only 16 hours, but I explained I could cope with the 20hrs. Only today we were finalising my hours and docs.

When I had my interview with joshua and scott, they both asked me, what I needed in my home, to make my working enviroment more comfortable. I said I had all that I needed. So its nice to know they do encourage those who have a disability and are willing to support me in this.

How you getting along with the training?

As My life evolves in the home and no outdoor life, lol, I was very flexible about the times.

Sat and Sun, 4hours between 3pm and 9pm and Monday and Tuesday 6 hours. Start training on the 26th May, at 6.30pm.
