Having a lot of probs tonight , my hubby has run the crap cleaner we have on our pc and now all the pages that i try and load are so slow ? Some also are saying not responding . I think it might be that somehow on running cc that all the cache has been deleted ? He also tells me that this afternoon the whole computer frooze and he had to turn the pc off at the plug . Then the tower wouldnt come on at all and he has press the reset button ? Can any of this affect the slow running of web pages ?
Hopefully someone can help ?

CCleaner used to be known as Crap Cleaner

samf1971, best thing you can do is to post your HijackThis log here and someone will inspect your log and tell you what to do. For info on how to install and use HijackThis, see post #4 in the Malware/Spyware Removal Guide sticky. The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0 -

Ccleaner shouldn't delete Cache. Internet Cache yes. The whirring? Not to sure.
Have you used the Registry cleaner? If so big naughty. Never clean your registry unless you know how.
Possibly Ccleaner deleted something in IE or Firefox (if you use it) thats allowed Spyware / Malware on to the hard drive? Use your own anti-virus (if you don't have one use AVG - http://free.grisoft.com/ - you will only need the free version)
Use this website for a rootkit detector - http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/downloads/docs/product/help/rkc/en/rkc_en.htm

Do you have a hardware monitor program? If so, what are the CPU temps? If not, you should be able to check the temperatures by going into the BIOS (usually press delete just after you switch it on) and checking there.
Had a look at a PC recently (a Pentium D which runs hot anyway) that was running very slowly and noisily. Processor was running extremely hot (and therefore throttling to prevent damage). Opening it up revealed huge levels of dust everywhere which was causing the issues..
It could be the problems are coincidental with you running a cleaner program.0 -
You may have a virus that is running the CPU at 100%.
Pres Ctrl + Alt keys and tap delete once, then click processes and the CPU column to put the highest at the top.0
