Are you allowed to be be claiming JSA and study?
OH is claiming JSA contribution based and has been for nearly 2 mths now. He's come up with an idea, could he study/learn to drive forklift truck and class 2 licence while claiming JSA?
He's came up with idea to extend the jobs he could apply for. His normal licence only allows to drive 3.5 tonne.
Any help or directions for where i can get info from would be great.

That i don't know yet. He simply came up with the idea today, we haven't looked for courses yet, thought our 1st point would be to ask on here 1st to see if he is allowed or if hours are limited to it etc.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160

I think if the course is few enough hours so that he will still be classed as available for work (which is one of the conditions of claiming Jobseekers Allowance), then he will be able to do it.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
When i was at college it was under 16 hours to remain classed as a jobseeker.
I did a 2 week f-t ECDL crash course(9-4) in the summer and told the adviser in the Jobcentre and he told me he never heard me say that as i would of been exempt from claiming JSA.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0
