Life assurance old policies

Sadly we lost our nan last week. We are in the process of sorting out some of her things and she has 3 life assurance policies. They are not worth a lot but we are confused as to what they will exactly pay and the company were vague on the phone.
She was always told by her insurance lady that she would have enough to bury her, which wa important to my nan, when she tried to up the policies and that she had enough.
Does she???
We have been told that the assurance policies have earnt bonuses... whatever that means.
They are with Royal Liver and she paid the premiums up until her death. They were all own life policies.
Policy 1 taken out in 1967 has a sum assured of 71.12 and a quinquenial endowment of 20.00.
Policy 2 taken out in 1980 has a sum assured of 399.96
Policy 3 taken out in 1987 has a sum assured of 492.00
Any guidence of what we should expect would be greatly received so that we can plan for payment of the remainder of the funeral if need be.
Thanks
Justine

Sorry for your loss.
They are probably whole of life plans with a sum assured plus bonuses. So, it will be the three sum assureds plus bonuses. The executor of the estate will find out the values once Royal Liver have evidence of whom the executor is.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
