If you are currently on the Scottish Power Online Energy Saver 4 Gas and Electric Tariff, it is no longer their cheapest Online Tariff. I rang today and was offered a cheaper tariff called Discounted Energy which is 3% cheaper than their standard Direct Debit Gas and Electricity rate until July 2009 and has other benefits - see below
By choosing our Discounted Energy Offer you will enjoy the following benefits:

• Save 3% against our standard monthly Direct Debit electricity prices until July 2009.
#

• Save 3% against our standard monthly Direct Debit gas prices until July 2009.

Additional discounts applicable for customers who choose our Discounted Energy Offer are:
• Gas & Electricity Offer annual discount * of up to £16.80 (inc. VAT)
• Online Energy Service annual discount * * of £5.25 (inc. VAT) for gas and £10.50 (inc. VAT)
for electricity.

Many thanks for this - having just received a quarterly bill for £208 (not a lot by national averages but still pretty expensive to us) any discounts are greatly received.

Managed to switch to price fall just after SP announced the 15% increase. I have noticed in the discounted tariff, electricity is more expensive at 9.192 compared to 7.901 on price fall on eastern. Also can you clarify the part where it says 3% off standard DD? Does that mean, they will reduce the dd payment by 3% not the price of the fuel itself? Thanks

The 3% discount is based on ScottishPower’s variable offline monthly Direct Debit prices per kWh - these prices may change from time to time during the period to 1 July 2009.
