Just out of interest I have just gone to property snake and typed in my postcode. There are just 30 reductions in prices. I am sorry but I just don't believe that the prices are going to drop by as much as some are predicting. They will drop as we are in a recession but if people think that they are ever going to be as low as they were 10 years ago, I believe they are mistaken.Loving the dtd thread. x0

I'd have to agree that its unlikely that house prices will rewind 10 years (3 years would be dramatic enough) but I think you have cause and effect confused here. Recessions happen because of property crashes, not the other way round.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Rise like Lions after slumber

Prices have already dropped 50%. It's just no-one has noticed yet.
Check out the auctions... very little is selling, and stuff that is is selling for WELL below 2005 prices.
The reduction in the LTV rates effectively cut everyones buying power by 50%... people are still making offers all over the place, and sold signs are going up, but the signs are staying up when buyer either can't sell their own place or can't a get a mortgage. No-one is completeing.
If you needed to sell in a hurry, in order to attract a "BUYER" rather than an "OFFERER" you'de need to offer 40% off.Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.0 -
