They rang me on 11 March and offered me a mortgage subject to valuation, the surveyor came on 13 March and they've rang me today (28 March) to tell me the valuation came back ok and that the offer is being sent out in the post.

Received formal mortgage offer and mortgage deed to sign on Tuesday (1 April).

Sent it back signed on Wednesday and received a SMS from the lagal team on Friday saying it had been received.

  • We haven't had our formal mortgage offer from DL yet. We applied 5 weeks ago online, and got a verbal offer in principle on the phone a couple of days later. The surveyor rang last Monday (31st) at 12.30pm to arrange an appointment and was in the house by 2pm! (He was from Countrywide as another poster has stated). The surveyor said he would telephone DL with his valuation within half an hour. However, like I said, we haven't had our formal offer documentation yet, (although on the day we had our survey we did receive an offer subject to valuation). I've got my fingers crossed everything is OK with the valuation as it appears DL have instructed their solicitors: we've had two letters from them requesting information and us to sign the mortgage deed. We need to know exactly what we're signing first though!

Good luck to you all waiting to hear. The process hasn't been painful so far and if we do get the 5.29% 5 year deal I'll be very pleased given the way the market has gone in the last few weeks. It will have been worth the wait!

It does seem like we applied at the right time, best current 5 year deal is 5.49% (Co op bank) with £699 arrangement fee.

Out of interest, my fixed rate ends 30 April when does everyone elses end?

  • We still haven't received our formal mortgage offer documentation from DL but we've got a bit of time: our current fixed rate ends 31 May.

Still waiting here. It's getting to the point of being very frustrating as our house buying process has been going along nicely and is now stuttered to a halt awaiting a mortgage offer.

Valuation was done over a week ago.

AT least it will be worth the wait!

Anyone got an update on how their application is progressing?

I've not heard anything for 2 weeks since I got the SMS telling me they'd received my signed mortgage deed.

I assume the next thing I'll hear is when its all gone through.

  • We got our formal mortgage offer by phone yesterday and in writing today. I can't remember now whether it's almost 7 or 8 weeks since I applied online and 3 weeks on Monday since the valuation was done.

    Phew!

We haven't signed any of the legals (I was reluctant to until we had the formal offer specifying the rate) but we'll do that PDQ.

Thanks for keeping us in touch with timelines.

We applied early March, had offer subject to survey end of March, house purchase fell through so had survey done on another place on Monday (April 14th). Hearing it's taking 15 working days from this point on any RBS mortgage (Direct Line part of RBS Group). So I am expecting formal mortgage offer through on 5th May. I'll be happy if it's sooner!
