But you don't get tax credits unless you are living on your own do you? I have never been able to get them because I live with my partner even though my wages are low

Could someone please explain these working credits, I have no kids live alone and earn £17k a year, would i be entitled?
  • What happens to us pensioners receiving occupational pensions? When and how do we get this rebate?

Are you over 65? If you are it doesn't affect you.

If you are under 65 you will get the rebate with September's pension payment.
  • How does this affect a BR code, plse?
    I am working for 2 agencies -
    1 has the normal code
    2 has the BR code...

As always, the ones to lose out are the low earner and part timers, and usually these are women. So what's new....

Erm... If you and I worked at the same job, for the same part time hours, on the same wage, you wouldn't be any worse off than me.

At least, as a woman, you can go get pregnant, and get child tax credit.

Do us guys have that choice? No. We have to convince a woman to do it. How very sexist.

It will be increased and you will have the benefit of the rebate.

Makes no difference to this code - you still pay 20%.
  • Is this new code likely to carry on into other years, 2009/10 onwards?
    Next year we'll be millionaires!

Ill be leaving my job in Sept to go into fulltime education... will I still get the money back (i'll need it!!)

    Thanks
    Gemma

I'd be interested to find this out as well. I'm off back to Uni too - I will get a pay packet in September, but nothing after that. Will I be able to apply for a rebate?
  • ok, I'm in need of help here!!
If we are all supposed to be better off (me and my partner earn 16k a year each)....
will it show up as a tax refund of £60 in our pay?
will our tax code go up to 635 (or something similar to that, not exactly sure what)?
if i got paid on the 29th aug, will the money go on the end of sept wage slip, or should it have gone on august?

Hope someone out there can help with these questions, payroll are crap where i work and i want to know exactly where I stand before i confront them!
    Thank you!!!
Mortgage only debt since 2013 =).... Happy days.
