Hi,
I've had this camera about 4/5 years now and only used it once but i need to upload a video on my PC. Looking at the manuals it does not seem that straight forward.
It has a memory card (only 8mb :rotfl:) but have put in a 512SD card in. But looking at it this can only take pictures. Now i uses DV tapes.
Anyone know how i get this videos from my camcorder to my pc?
Any help would be great.

Your camera utilises a IEEE 1394 connection (also known as 'firewire') to transfer video off you camera. You will need a firewire port on your pc and a lead to connect it to your camcorder if you don't have these you can get a firewire card/lead/software package from Amazon for under a tenner.

I think you'll find the SD card is only for stills."...IT'S FRUITY!"0 -

Did it come with a USB cable? If so, plug one end into your camcorder and one into the PC. Then open up movie maker or somthing and select capture video0

It did come with a usb cable, but reading on it now it looks like that is for photos only.
I just bought a PCI one from ebay for £7 inc del (and 6 usb ports aswell)0 -
Capturing video through the usb generally is either too slow or it doesn't work at all. If you have firewire on your pc then you will need a cable only. The port should look as if it takes this plug...
Normally pcs have a six pin connection and camcorders have a four pin connection. Occasionally pcs will have a four pin but it's unlikely, so if the slot looks as if it takes the six pin plug you simply need a four to six pin lead such as this...

Dell don't fit firewire interfaces as standard to their desktops.
You can get a card cheaply, and of course a firewire cable to go with it.
The USB connection on your camcorder is for transferring still pictures, and possibly movies that you have stored on the SD card.
Firewire, DV connection, IEEE1394 are all terms used for the same interface.
Cards and cables can be seen here

You will need a 6 pin to 4 pin lead. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
To capture the video you can use Windows Movie Maker which should already be on your pc as it's part of windows."...IT'S FRUITY!"0

What do you mean to capture the video?
I bought this in the end

(not from this seller but it's exactly the same thing)0 -
Did it come with a firewire lead? That's all you're going to need.
'Capture' is an expression used to transfer the video to you pc. You will need to connect your camcorder to the pc. Open up the Movie Maker program, and it should detect your camcorder connection. When it does it should ask you do you want to capture video. From there it should be quite straight forward."...IT'S FRUITY!"0 -
