Really useful SOA calculator..

Hi Cleosmum, Do you mean that it isn't easy to read when you paste it into the MSE post editor? If you are using Internet Explorer this is true and is a function of how Internet Explorer formats things. It looks fine if other browsers like Firefox and Opera.
You are right that the UNsecured debts tables is a little out of alignment. There are good reasons for this - which I won't bore you with - but I can fix it. It will just take some more fiddly programming.
I'll have a look to see if I can do anything about the faintness of the text, but this may not be possible. This is down to a combination of the fact that I have to use a monospaced font to maintain the table layout and the way MSE displays such a font. I can't change how MSE displays things, but I'll see if there is an alternative monospaced font that would look better.

I havent tried pasting my own in but found it quite difficult reading sparkys SOA post. I'm using Firefox and finding it quite feint. Programming stuff is over my head, my OH has just tried to explain why it would be difficult to sort it, and mentioned something about importing it to an image instead but whooosh right over my head lol. Anyway, thanks for your reply0 -
I have just put some small enhancements live in the SOA calculator:
1. "Available for debt repayments" was sometimes showing as a number with many decimal places. Have fixed to 2 decimal places.
2. Secured and Unsecured debt tables were slightly out of alignment. Have fixed so that they should always line up perfectly.
3. Small change to output format to make it less likely that someone misses off a critical tag when they copy and paste into a discussion board

Hi folks,
ImmoralangelUK posted a link to a new SOA calculator just over a week ago. If you have any further feedback or suggested enhancements, I will see what I can do.
Is it easy to use? Do all the expense categories make it rather daunting or is it a helpful way of ensuring that you have entered everything? (the latter was the intention!). Does the formatting for MSE help you to post your SOA? Is it easier to use or more comprehensive than other ways of creating your SOA? Is there anything it should cater for but doesn't? etc.
I'm to keen to make it as comprehensive to use as possible while being easy to use.

Comments on the results
You have sufficient monthly income to meet your expenses and your minimum monthly debt repayments with £184 left over. You can use this to pay off your debts more quickly or to build/top-up an emergency fund. Whatever your results show, it always pays to seek advice or comments from others. Why not post your SOA details on our Debt Management discussion board or on your preferred discussion forum elsewhere. Thankyou for using the SOA Calculator at https://www.makesenseofcards.com.

Hi sugarpants
I'd say congratulations for posting up your SOA, but i think you may need to try this again.
Start a new thread so that anyone looking at it and commenting will be able to find it easier and know what the subject is about.
Also, with the calculator, there is a button "MSE" that changes the layout of the data so that it is easy to read on the forum. Have another go - it is fairly easy. I promise. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Hi Sugarpants. Looks as if you have copy-and-pasted from the Format for Print instead of the Format for MSE. I hope you saved the data, then you can simply Load Data then format for MSE.
