    Great calculator, just used it!

I couldn't get it to save either though, clicked save and nothing happened. Navigated off the page and the results had gone.

    Thanks for posting this!

    Hi Lorne

Did my comments above in response to Jess help?

I think the problem is likely to be one of the following:

    1. You entered the data into the form and then hit the "Save Button" without hitting Calculate first. If you try to Save without having done calculation at least once, then it won't actually save it - it does show an warning below the buttons in the message area but you may have missed it.

    or

    2. Your browser is set NOT to accept cookies

If you could spare a couple of mins to retry it, ensuring that you press Calculate once before saving, that would be helpful. If this ends up being a common problem then I can change the way that the Save button works so that it saves even if you haven't Calculated.

    Thanks

Just tried again and had the same problem, definitely clicked calculate before save and again nothing happened, checked my cookie settings and they seem to be ok.

Don't worry, I will be back to use it again, I've noted the figures and will look forward to doing it again in a couple of months.

Thanks for trying to sort it out, Lorna

Hmm. Thanks Lorna. Could you let me know what browser you are using and what version if possible.? Also what operating system would be useful.

It is definitely working for me.

My only complaints are that when it is copied and pasted into a post it isnt that easy to read and the section with the UNsecured debts doesnt sit right and looks all jumbled up. The words are quite feint too, not easy on the eyes.

Other than that I found it easy to use :)

Hi Cleosmum, Do you mean that it isn't easy to read when you paste it into the MSE post editor? If you are using Internet Explorer this is true and is a function of how Internet Explorer formats things. It looks fine if other browsers like Firefox and Opera.

You are right that the UNsecured debts tables is a little out of alignment. There are good reasons for this - which I won't bore you with - but I can fix it. It will just take some more fiddly programming. *EDIT: This has now been fixed. Tables should align fine now*

I'll have a look to see if I can do anything about the faintness of the text, but this may not be possible. This is down to a combination of the fact that I have to use a monospaced font to maintain the table layout and the way MSE displays such a font. I can't change how MSE displays things, but I'll see if there is an alternative monospaced font that would look better.
