Mini DV tape

Also bear in mind the video on the tape is interlaced, so it won't look particularly good when played back without deinterlacing. It'll be fine when played back on a TV, because the TV will either be interlaced or will deinterlace it for you. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

Never thought of tapes being interlaced. I'll give it a go and see what happens. My concern was that if you record/capture video onto PC using say setting recommended on Windows Movie Maker nad it seems juddery/ pixelated on play back, how can you edit it properly?I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

This may be a feature of WMM. I normally edit using Adobe Premiere Pro. Using this the rendering happens in real time and is very smooth. If I try editing the same footage with WMM the rendering is very jerky. However when I burn an AVI file from the edited piece from WMM the jerkiness disappears. It might be worth having a go and see what happens. It could be the way the software handles the DV AVI files."...IT'S FRUITY!"0
