Egg taken too much in a dierct debit!

Hi I apologise if there is an answer ot this someone, but I cannot find it...
Egg took my direct debit yesterday, which is set (so I thought:confused: ) at £30.
They however took £39.74. I know not a big difference, but I do not think the account that the devit is set from has it in.............
I emailed them yesterday and asked for an explaination, and they just said "it was your direct debit"
Have I missed something? On my interenet account, it states that my DD is set at £30 per month:confused:

Strange, all I can think of was the £39.74 was the minimum payment on the amount you owe and that was why they took that. If that is the case, then they should'nt allow you to set it at £30 on the website..

Others might have a better idea than me. xx

Have a look at the most recent statement you have received and not the account overview page.

On the statement page it should list details of transactions and then closing balance and minimum payment.

At the bottom it will then tell you what your payments are set to (in this case £30.00)

it does say somewhere that if your regular payment amount is less than the minimum payment amount, then they will take the figure which is higher.

It sounds as though whilst you want your regular payment to be £30.00, the minimum payment they required this month was £39.74

(you cannot see what the minimum payment figure is from the page you are quoting details from)
