    Hi echo,

I've no idea about why it wont install if you've got all that free space but I know I always seem to get the same problem with AdAware. It runs fine for the first 6 months then randomly stops updating and requires me to uninstall and then reinstall with the latest version.

Its just a fact of life I've learnt to deal with. Don't know of any resolution.

    Uninstall it.

    Reboot.

Re-download the installer from the official site: http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

    Install the new version.

that's the version i downloaded and tried to install.i'd uninstalled the last version from add/remove.will using the uninstaller make a difference???? it's still gonna be 20mb and i'll still get the same message surely?

i tried downloading and installing an older version and it works ok but won't update definitions-which was the reason i uninstalled in the first place.still dunno why the latest version won't install.
