Hi
does anyone know why this is? It looks like its in sleep mode but its not. The graphics card is fully updated and cannot see other options for this.
Even on webpages this website looks really dull looking and can hardly read the topics.
Any help would be great

Hi Mr Kennedy,
I had a problem with my screen being dull on my HP laptop despite having the screen brightness turned right up.
In the end someone told me it was because of the Ambient Light sensor being found on a lot of laptops. This sensor picks up the light around you and adjusts the screen brightness accordingly.
If this is your problem you should be able to turn this off using a keyboard shortcut. It is likely to be a blue icon on one of your laptop keys that needs you to hold down the Fn button at the same time. Its probably located close to the brightness buttons.
Good luck

Typicaly if a back light goes on a flat panel, it goes.
This sounds more like a software problem. Try doing a system restore back to before when you installed the newer drivers. Or alternately roll back the drivers in device manager. To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -
Had the same problem myself:

For which I found the solution (last post) which worked brilliantly for me.
Hope this helps.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -
Managed to get it sorted just did a full system restore and it looks like normal. Was very strange.
