Which Insurance for multi occupany?

I live with my girlfriend and two other mates in a 3 bedroom flat.
I would like to get contents insurance but it's proving difficult to get a quote.
Really I want to cover my ipod, mobile, 2 x drum kits plus accessories, stereo and CD's. But it would be better to get cover for all my belongings incase there was a fire or something.
Most companies won't insure me coz I'm not living with family and the ones which do will only insure whats locked in my room (rubbish!
( ) don't have a lock on my door.
Any ideas please let me know?!?!?
