We haven't had ours yet but thats not suprising.....we are on HB and CTB, it takes them ages to work it out and as we have pensions from old employers which comes in at the end of April, we then have to send the stuff into them and it then takes months for them to work it out and revise the payment. We never seem to catch up. We had a letter from them a couple of weeks ago saying that we owed them £2.98 from last April......they make me laugh....and then weep when I get the bill. I really wish we did not have to claim benefit, but we are entitled as pensioners living on a small pension but loosing out because we have our employer pensions.

It annoys me so much we did what we could to ensure that we had a resonable standard of living in retirement only to find that we are penalised for our efforts.

The council tax has increased by 4.95% which is just under the limit for being capped...................

I have always been as frugal as possible but find we are fighting a loosing battle, I have had to increase my housekeeping budget by £20 a month and we are not using our car unless we have to. I put £20 in the tank each month and when its gone its gone.

Got mine last week, guess what, its gone up!
I always wanted to be a procrastinator, never got round to it...
  • I come under South Glous, I've not had mine yet but I know its gone up because when I phoned them earlier this month to see if I could pay in 12 monthly installments they just laughed hysterically. Then I asked if it had increased and once they stopped laughing again they confirmed that it had increased.

Which got me thinking, with the exception of 'down banding' and the very rare person on here that states that there has stayed the same - have any councils actually reduced there CT bill........?

Sorry I just read that back and realised what a stupid question, councils reducing revenue - as if!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
 Who knows where thoughts come from - they just appear!
