HP make me angry

I've had an ongoing issue with HP regarding a laptop repair case which I submitted to them at the end of January and STILL isn't fixed... i'm just wondering if there's any way I can demand compensation from them or demand something from them because they have really p***** me off! I'll give you the 'short' version...
31st of January I submitted a case to them via their website because my laptop suddenly stopped working. They sent someone round to do an on-site repair because the laptop is still under warranty. The maintenence guy replaced the system board but this did not fix the problem.
So in Feburary, around the 7th, I opened a new case for the same problem and they sent another guy round, who replaced the system board again and the system processor. This still did not fix the problem, so I asked him to come back the following Tuesdsay. Tuesday came around but no maintenence guy showed up... so I called HP and asked what had happened and they didn't have a clue. So I said to send someone round that Thursday.. Thursday AM I get a call from BT Lynx (The people who HP employ to fix their stuff) saying that HP hadn't ordered the parts and so no one would be coming round.
I was pretty annoyed by this point, but I said send someone round next Tuesday then. The guy shows up on Tuesday and replaces the Hard drive but still does not fix the problem, so he suggests the system board or Hard drive is faulty, and someone will come round Thursday and it should be fixed by the next visit. So then Thursday (that was last week) comes and I get a call again from BT Lynx and HP haven't ordered the parts again...
And now its Tuesday and there's a guy sitting in my kitchen replacing my hard drive and system board again. If it doesn't work im probably going to hurt someone.
HP have really royally p***** me off and I want something ffrom them but I dont know what I can get off them. I am at university so it's not like I have booked days off work for the maintenence guys to come round, but I have missed a few days of lectures on a Tuesday or Thursday to see them. Can I demand compensation from them??

You can demand anything you want. Getting it is another matter. They may offer you something as a goodwill gesture but you're not going to be able to twist their arm legally. Small claims cases tend to only award you costs to put you back to the same state of value you were in before you made the purchase, i.e. either a fully working laptop or the current value of the laptop. Did you actually buy the laptop from HP? If you wanted to use the sale of goods act or distance selling regulations then it'd have to be something taken up with the retailer you bought it off."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I got the laptop off Ebay, I think its worth about 700 quid at the moment... if they manage to fix the laptop, I won't be able to claim that will I?0 -

Claim the value of the laptop that's working? No, you could only claim that if the laptop either wasn't returned or couldn't be repaired. What you can or can't claim for is written in the terms of your warranty. If you want something more than what's written in the warranty then you need to claim from the retailer not HP, they're only legally liable to uphold whatever warranty contract they gave which of course is written on their terms anyway. You can only take them to court over it if they break their warranty agreement in some way and that is purely down to what's written in it."She is quite the oddball.
