0% card

Hi there,

I am going to apply for a 0% card and do some balance transfers now that all of my credit cards have been paid off. I was thinking about the Abbey card 0% for 13 months, we have recently been accepted for a remortgage with Abbey would it follow that they would approve us for their other products?????

Thanks, Lorna

Its not always the case unfortunately. I went for Barclays 0% for 14 months.

    Thanks for your response

My partners card is a Barclaycard and they say it would need to be closed for 3 months before we could apply for the 0% one. There isn't a balance on it but we wanted to keep it as our 'just in case' card

The fact that your partner has a Barclaycard doesn't stop you getting one, with Credit Cards there are no joint accounts, and you would both be considered as separate customers even if you are secondary cardholders on eachother's accounts.

Virgin Money's still my favourite of the moment.
    0% for 15 months, 2.98% fee
First payment 3%, next 14 payments only £25

They tend to give decent credit limits, and at the end of the introductory period they seem (from what I've read in other threads and forums) to be reasonably open to being talked into giving you another deal if you've cleared your balance with them.

Always set up a direct debit to repay the minimum and each time you get a statement from them, run a highlighter pen through the due date and payment amount and make sure there's enough clear funds to cover it.
