should i apply for a 0% card when i still have time to run on old cards

my situation is that i have 2 CCs. the 0% ends on aug for 1 and oct for the other. pretty soon me and OH are gonna book a holiday for around £2k and it'll need to go on CC. i have seen a cc with HSBC that has 0% on purchases for 12 months and i can get quidco cashback of £21 so i was gonna go for that one. my instinct is to apply for the card closer to my holiday or closer to the 0% running out on card number 1, however i worry is that the 0% deal wont last or the quidco deal wont last and when i come to apply there wont be a good deal around.
what is your advice, should i apply for the card now or later, bearing in mind i wont really need it for another month or so?!
cheers!:money:

Select a card that will do the job ie 0% on purchases then keep this seperate from your other debts you must not BT to this new card unless you are a Financial wizz as you will end up being charged interest as the allocation of payments are different for BT and purchases.
It could take two weeks for the card to arrive and they normally have a 0% purchase period as long as you purchase your holiday during this period it will stay at 0% until the end of the period.
Ideally get the card in place the put the holiday on it ASAP so it is at 0% for a long as possible.
Instead of paying off the card put the money in a saving account and then pay it off at the end of the 0% period that will leave you some interest in your savings account probably enough for a night out.Previously known as Bokken, registered at MSE in Nov 04,computer glich deleted my access but it is fun building up my stars from scratch,again.:D0
