I do agree with you though, from experience, I wouldn't buy a repo again, children were, I am lead to believe, living in the house before, have moral guilt nightmares sometimes.
However, console myself with the fact the house was on the market for over a year before I bought it and that the parents had left a lovely mess in the house, some of their 'messes' were apparently public health dangers, if you know what I mean.
Luckily had all been seen to before we viewed.
Ok im sure god will forgive you

You are too kind! But its too late to be kind at that stage - the kiddies are already out living on the street or wherever! (sorry that sounds cruel, its not!)
Might as well snap up the bargain, if you don;t someone else will.0 -

You sound like the kind of person who would pretend to be dead in the trenches so didn't have to fight0 -
A 4-bed detatched for £179,950 ! - what area is this in?0

Sorry I came across as quite cruel there, but from what I understand when the repo house is on the market, the ex-owners have already been evicted.
So kindness in the way of avoiding buying it is kind of a bit late, if you wanted to be kind to someone, best time would be BEFORE their house is reposessed.
Avoiding buying the repo house is just some pointless sentimentalism.
And I would not be in the trenches! I would not be fighting, I think I would be a conscientious objector (and yes I know that war is sometimes unavoidable, but I can be an idealist and not agree with it).0 -
I think I would be a conscientious objector
I feel I have to point out the kind of cruel world we live in. Conscientious objectors were forcibly shipped to the trenches in France (WW1) and then shot if they refused to fight.
I claim the prize for the most off-topic post of the day.0 -

If our grandfathers would have been conscientious objectors who would have helped us ride out the storm of war and stop the menace of tyranny that threatened this island ?0 -

Mr Broderick, I am sorry but I fail to see the relevance of this at all to the thread anyway. I was not alive for any of the big trench warfare wars - WWI/II.
Some of our grandfathers may well have been conscientious objectors actually as well.
This is an entirely pointless thing to raise in a debate about house prices anyway.0 -
This is the repo

However, as some already know we are actually looking at a new build. The sales rep is coming over Saturday. If they can't do the deal we want then we will be gunning for the repo
My mum works at Ringrose Law so knows the staff at Pygotts very well. She has the keys for the repo now so we'll have a good look at it this week.0 -
