Removals insurance? Any advcie gratefully received..

I'm so confused about this. Booked our removal van and were told it covered up for insurance up to 50k.
Then got a call from a company wanting us to take out insurance.
Was basically told that the removals insurance isn't worth the paper it is written on and that if for example all our goods were damaged, we would only get a nominal amount back per item.
Now the quote we got was for 1.75% of the goods value. As we have NO spare cash, the most I could afford to pay would be £200 which would bebasically saying our goods would be worth around 10k.
But here's my dilemma. The insurance policy states that it only covers whole load damage. So if, say, our tv smashed, they wouldn't pay out? Whereas presumably the simple insurance included in the removals policy would pay a nominal amount? So I cannot see how we benefit by paying this extra £200 unless the van crashes and everything is smashed (and even then I assume we would get money under the removals firm insurance?).
Is there anyone out there who can advise me on whether I should pay this £200 which under insures us or not? I need to decide like now!
