Income based JSA entitles you to free prescriptions. Contributions based does not x
    Gone ... or have I?
  • If you have trouble claiming the free prescriptions from the pharmacy, I have found that a letter of entitlement from the Benefits Delivery Centre. Also, if you are claiming for a partner who is also entitled to free prescriptions, ask them to include their details on the letter so there is no confusion.

She may qualify for an exemption due to having a low income. However, this would take into account your income also. If you work full time you/ he is very unlikely to qualify.

  • I work, so i dont think my wage of £15,000 is classified as low income. I just thought because my boyfriend was on JSA he wouldn't have to pay for his, i totally understand i would have to pay for mine as i am working.

    Oh well, worth asking.
