Paying for USA Studies?

Hi,

My son is due to go on a Football (Soccer) Scholarship in the USA later in the year. He resides in Scotland and would like to know if there is any government funding for studying in the USA.

Also, with the dollar being around $2 to the pound I had been thinking of buying dollars is this possible? and, where is the best place to do this?

Any help would be great.

Regards

Othalian

There is no government funding for study outside the UK, unless you are a student of a UK university going abroad for a year. There may be some private charity or organisation like the Fulbright Commision but they are highly competitive and possibly more aimed at postgraduate, but give them a looksee anyway. You could also ask the university he is going to if they know of any outside funding for international students, but again, there is little and will be very competitive.

As for the dollar question, I can't really help there, sorry.
