Hayley's Debt Free by Dec 08 Diary

A little update from me
I am getting A LOT better at this DFW malarkey. Today I received my first £10 Amazon voucher from Bview, so the £15 I had put aside to buy a dvd, I have now used to put towards my Littlewoods debt. Before I joined MSE I would never of used it to put towards paying off my debt, I probably would of went and got something else to treat myself. I love buying dvds when they are free!!!! Just waiting for my 2nd £10 Amazon voucher now which Simon has said he will arrange for me. Now debating whether to attempt another 20 reviews before the closing date tomorrow. Hmmmm.
My debt totals as of 30th July 2008 are:
Parents - £1,500 (they have said to forget about this debt, but I'm not going too)
Barclaycard - £590.01
Littlewoods - £414.51
I have £300 in my account that I have set aside so I can actually feel like I have money if I want to do something. I have decided to pay £20+ off my debt every Friday in August using this money. At the end of the month on payday which is the 28th August, if I have any of the £300 left its going straight to pay off debt as it will be a fresh month and I will put some of Augusts pay aside for September and do exactly the same thing!!! I just hate having no money straight after being paid, so now all the bills have been paid, any extra I want to pay off will be done weekly.
I have listed some bits on ebay, so any money I make from there, hopefully £50, that will go towards the £100 pure GHD's I want!!
I have a 20% off voucher for Dorothy Perkins from the Company magazine this month, so I think I'm going to go spend £50 on some new clothes, which will only come to £40 once discount has been added – yay!!!! Or if I see lots I like I may spend a bit more, but its all being done in a DFW way, discounts are the best!!!!!! I have seen some jean shorts i love, so getting them and a few summer tops, that will cheer me up again!!! I'd of preferred discounts to River Island or Topshop, but I shouldn't grumble!0 -
Hi Hayley,

I'm really getting into this money saving now, just used my £10 voucher i got from Bview to order a DVD on Amazon, i only had to pay £2, i didn't fancy using my other £10 voucher to cover the cost of £2. Anyways, it said i qualified to take part in the one month trial of Prime on Amazon, so i have just signed up to that so get all my orders this month within 1 day, without paying a penny. I have just remembered to switch off the auto bit so i don't get charged the usual annual free of £49 for the service.
So a great dvd for £2 - yippee! Should arrive Friday just in time for the weekend. My OH will be happy, a girly flick!!!0 -
Just so you know the change stays in your account so you don't lose money by using another voucher

Oh, i never knew that Lilmiss, silly me. BView have sent me another voucher, i received the two i was due to get, but tonight i have logged on and found they have sent me another, what am i to do? my mate said just keep it and keep quiet, but i'm not sure. Knowing my luck i'll use it and they will recall it and i will have to pay the it back.
I ordered two dvds from Amazon on Wednesday night, they arrived today. I'm loving this prime trial, its wicked. 1 day deliveries are the best. Not sure if £49 for the year is worth it though. I guess it is because they send all packages special delivery next day.
Getting annoyed with Quidco at the monent, i have stuff dating back to May that has been tracked forever, and not validated, talk about take your time. Starting to think i will never see this money.
I need to get back into comping, i had a week a few months back where i'd do 50 comps a night, i think i entered about 300 comps and i won NOTHING!!! That sorta makes me think i have no hope at winning anything and comping is just a waste of time. But Jen on the moneymabels thread won a great tv, so maybe there is hope! hmmm.0 -
I spent mine in the end......but i put that on my diary too.
I had a rant on the quidco thread yesterday, am waiting from high street web money from April. :rolleyes:Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
I may just spend mine then, i would like a new CD, and for free is even better.
April? thats a long time to be waiting. Why do some companies pay out quickly, when others take months and months! arrgghh!0 -
They used to pay the month after so i am wondering if there is a problem, it always tracks but i have stopped doing it for now as just keeps rolling over :rolleyes:Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0
