Everybody's feeling it, we are back having to use our overdraft each month!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • My OH's petrol bill was in excess of £350 last month..not including parking tickets and miscellaneous stuff to do with the car. as someone quite rightly said soon we will not be able to afford to go to work. He has now made arrangements to work on his day off, so he can afford the petrol money!

I also put the council tax on 12 monthly, the extra £30 a month can go to the petrol, and i am taking part in challenges on old style..see my sig, i have no shame in buying all the basic stuff, shop at Aldi, Netto and the market..also having a bash at growing my own things, and am walking if i don't need to use the car. I need mine for work and hospital appts for DD2.

I write down daily the electric and gas used and make sure i update these online..i have also capped my prices until 2010, we are now £130 in credit(have requested this back) and have reduced the DD.:T

I am trying all ways to make extra dosh, through Amazon and e bay..i think it just has to be done..and i feel like i am teaching the kids a valuable lesson in eating well and budgetting..just wish Mr.B was as savvy as them at times!:rotfl:

It's truely scary how much everything seems to be going up at the moment :( We're in pretty huge arrears with both the gas & electric but I just can't afford to increase the DDs any more right now (currently £40 electric and £58 gas  ). We're all trying hard now to get our usage right down during the summer ......... not using the tumble dryer at all, only washing with a full load, turning off lights/appliances, bathing once a week...... okay, am joking about the last one :p

We're hardly using the car at all, just for the most essential journeys. We'd probably get rid of it completely only H needs it for collecting and dropping off his son at the weekends..... a journey not really possibly by public transport (and would cost a fortune anyway).

I've ummed and ahhed about typing this next but, but it might help someone so will accept the backlash <gulp>..... non-smokers, look away now (you have been warned) - if (like me :o ) you just can't give up the evil weed, then go onto roll ups. They *do* take a little getting used to but the savings made are well worth it. I KNOW smoking is totally non-MSE, but you know, we're only human at the end of the day :o
You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that :p
