Funny Smell In Our House

You may have a leak under the floor as previously mentioned. We had the same, a funny smell then when sitting in the house with no background noise I could hear a feint hiss. Then noticed the paint beginning to bubble above the skirting. The underfloor pipe from the boiler to the sink had split Rather then dig up the kitchen floor, hubby tapped that pipe off and ran a flexi pipe up the wall and across the ceiling. Painted to hide it in the walls and hidden behind coving across the ceiling its not noticable and will do untill we refit the kitchen 0 Rather then dig up the kitchen floor, hubby tapped that pipe off and ran a flexi pipe up the wall and across the ceiling. Hello I forgot about this post till I was reminded of it tonight. So thought I would reply. Well I chucked vinegar in our washing machine and it stopped the smelling from there. I found out that water was getting collected in the seal.
The neighbours confirmed the rest was outside as they also smelt it in their houses as did partners dad. It seems to have dissappered oddly enough now though so I don't know what or where it was coming from. As far as I'm aware no - one called anyone out it just kinda dissapered just as quickly as it came . I am pleased it is sorted now though. . I am pleased it is sorted now though.
Thank you to those of you who helped me with tips and hints though its much appreciated.0
