I placed an order for a software on the 02/03/2008 from online site http://www.softwarecentral.co.uk. On the site payment method shown as paypal but it was collected by NOCHEX on the 05/03/008 from my account as I paid by debit card. delivery was suppose to be within 3-6 days after waiting for few days I started sending e mails but received no reply. I raised this with NOCHEX but they are not taking any responsibilites. And there is no address and telephone number.
my aim is to first try to get my money back if possible, second to report to the concerned authorities and then warn all others to stay away from them. Any help or suggestion will be appreciated

Using a WHOIS tool, the details of the domain owner are as follows:
Jack G
112 Balmoral Drive
Bramcote hills
Nottingham
Nottinghamshire
NG9 3FT
whois.domaintools.com/softwarecentral.co.uk
One interesting thing to note is that he also offers mobile disco services from this same address!
:T
Hope this helps,

Their FAQ section states:
"Is it an original holographic disc with certificate?
It is not on an original holographic disc and does not include a certificate, box or manual. You get the full version software including serial code or activation instructions. The software can be used as a backup copy of the original disc, a replacement disc or for evaluation purposes."
Why are the alarm bells going off in my head?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
ok first thing is, by adding the whole website address to your post and title you have created a link to the website which will drive more traffic to them!
Secondly....if they are trading online they MUST have there address on there somewhere, if they havent they are breaking the law
I think a phone call to trading standards might be in order here.
Good luck0 -
as an aside, just look at the prices.
office 2007 for under £30? really did you assume these were legit.?
if it were me i would contact the likes of M$ and other big software houses
being ripped off by the site.
they will be more interested in getting it shut down.0 -
As custardy says, contact Microsoft (e-mail piracy @ microsoft.com) and Adobe ( http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/antipiracy/ ) and any other company that holds the rights to the products that site advertises as for sale and that site will no longer exist when they get their lawyers in. I'm sure the owner (if it's the same person) finds a mobile disco is a good way to pay the rent when he has to keep evading the law.
Will you see your money again paying by debit to a scam site? I hope so but it wouldn't be a surprise if it wasn't as simple as getting a refund from a legitimate source who wasn't the internet equivalent of knock-off Nigel. After posting about receiving an email to my MSE username/email from 'Money Expert' (note the use of ' '), I am now unable to post on MSE. Such is life.0 -
And don't forget to contact Paypal as well. whilst they are not always good at protecting their customers they are very quick at looking after themselves and would not like to be associated with a fraud.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Its quite obvious that this guy is selling ripped off software and if he's bad enough to do that do you really think you're going to see your money again? Hopefully so, but I doubt it.0

Hi,
This geek is still at it. He is now advertising on eBay using carmella@wellglow.co.uk as his email address, and receiving PayPal payments without sending out any goods. His user name isjack-stjohn. Avoid any auctions from this individual. He has a score of 4 and yes, you've guessed it, he has a complaint under his profile quote"Took payment, sent me a damaged item, no communication, resolution or integrity!" Telephone numbers are 0115 9252583, 08443570431, amongst others, but forget trying to make any contact. He runs 26 sites, all along the same lines. The sooner Old Bill nail this character the better.
