Sainsburys - anybody else noticed ?

They certainly seemed to have trimmed down the product ranges - which now means I can't get certain things anywhere anymore. My local Savacentre has just undergone a refit and apart from the fact in now looks terrible inside (they've gone from subdued lighting to brighter than bright striplights so it's more like an Asda) the product range now seems to be the same as a smaller store; there's just more of it piled up. Same problems with things being permanently OOS though.
On a separate issue my 'Local' store (where everything is available in only the smallest sizes and at a minimum 20p premium) was quite responsive after I complained to the careline - their ceiling heaters blasted hot air down onto the bread section which meant bread seemed to have a shelf life of 12hrs before mould set in. These have now been turned down. You ask and sometimes you get I suppose.I do hope you're telling the truth?0 -

Try asking a manager, when lines aren't on the shelf anymore its because they have either been discontinued due to not selling or theyre having a change of the packaging oNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
Sainsbury's Norwich has stopped selling the 1 kg packs of Easy Cook Italian Brown Rice (delicious and impossible to mess up!) and now only sells the half size at somewhat more than half the price. Finding anyone to talk to is a fairly major achievement (the service desk person is usually on the phone presumably dealing with other complaints) last time I managed the "manager" shrugged and said " I know, it's terrible but we've understaffed for months." It's a very long time since I went in with my usual shopping list and managed to get everything on it. The failure to keep fruit and veg shelves stocked is a particular bugbear and the pricing games ( we're not supposed to notice that buying some items in bulk costs more than buying them individually) is a downright insult to intelligence.
It will take very little more for me to decide I'm shopping elsewhere.Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!0 -

Thinking of making a complaint to the customer desk when next in store.
I have a different grievance against Sainsburys: I few times I have (almost) been caught up in this one: they tend to put offers for a product (reductions or buy one get one free, etc) in slightly the wrong place, under a more desirable (and more expensive) product, so you pick that one instead of the discounted one. The labelling is not always clear and the details are in small print, so sometimes is a struggle to read them. When I complained I was just told to "read the label"0 -

I have tried asking a manager at the shop itself and also on the so called "customer helpdesk". They just listen to my request but NOTHING ever happens. They don't even ask my name and there never is a follow up.
I am now doing most of my shopping elsewhere. Sainsburys you are losers if you don't listen to your customers
By the way, ASDA (at least the Rushden branch) is very good at listening to complaints0 -
its the same at out Tesco store, for love nor money we can not get bournvita, I have a very fussy / spolit dog who likes a milky bournvita at ngt, mum drinks it as well, but 4 me the dog takes priotery!!!
Weve tried, Tesco extra, tesco exppress, morrisons, asda, even spar - to no avail. xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Phone the Sainsburys main careline - the number that's on all the packaging. The feedback does get filtered back to the store - my local and rather useless store turned down the fan heating that was directly over the bread which meant that everything had a shelf life of about 5mins - but only after a call to the central centre.
These things now tend to work on performance stats & your local store manager will have to account for complaints received centrally rather than having the option of choosing to ignore them instore.I do hope you're telling the truth?0 -
Unfortunately this is not just peculiar to Sainsburys. Tesco are also guilty of this too. OUR LOCAL tesco haven't stocked the standard sized caster sugar for months, only the small bags amongst other things. Many of everyday products are labelled as "discontinued" in our store. :mad:Nice to save.0
