Sainsburys - anybody else noticed ?

Every week - products I buy in larger sizes are not available on the shelves... Not just out of stock... But are not been stocked. Is this just in the stores in Norwich or more widespread.
Cadburys Hot chocolate 500g - they now only sell the 250g .
Sainsburys (own brand) weetabix (48 pkt) - they now only sell the smaller sizes.
Toilet Rolls ( own brand) now not stocking large pkts.
Its not as if they aren't making enough money .. now they don't sell the large items so my weekly shop goes up if we have to buy the smaller packets and more profit for Sainsburys.
Thinking of making a complaint to the customer desk when next in store.

I know I haven't been able to get the 750g packs of Shreddies anywhere (not just Sainsburys) for a few months now.
Can definitely still get the own brand Sainsburys weetabix in 48s as I bought some last week, so that must just be your store and worth a comment to CS.
Whilst I can't say I've noticed any of my other regular big brands disappearing, I have lost a couple of the more specialised/lower turnover products - I have a feeling a lot of the supermarkets are reassessing their product ranges as shoppers trim their budgets though, as this isn't just limited to Sainsburys, but also my local Co-op and Tesco.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
I agree. This really infuriates me too. I buy elderflower cordial which is quite expensive anyway £2.99 for 75cl but suddenly in all supermarkets its gone down to a 50cl bottle but still £2.99. How can this be right? :mad:0

it is worth speaking to the store manager.A couple of summers ago my local supermarket stopped selling 'ordinary' tomatoes. You could buy 'on the vine' 'plum' 'cherry' but not 6 in a pack salad tomatoes. Apparently it had been decided by the powers that be that as an affluent area we could afford posh tomatoes !!! My neighbour and i just kept on at the manager until policy was changed!0

These items will be store specific and could have been withdrawn by store support due to slow sales in that store or by the store manager to accomodate new lines from other brands.
It is definitely worth talking to the store manager or a duty manager if the store manager is unavailable and seeing if they are able to restock the products you can no longer purchase. One day you are the bird and the next you are the statue, but everyday you should try to do something you love0 -
The cadburys hot chocolate in large I haven't seen in any local stores recently.
We did try the sainsburys own brand - but I don't even think it should have been described with the word "chocolate" in it.
My mom has got some for me at waitrose ( a tiny store in comparision)...
One store had a refit to make it larger...so has more floor space.. but they have filled it with more clothes and electricals :mad:Give somebody a hug it costs nothing

My Sainsburys was made larger in October (Whitechapel) - but the store constantly struggles to keep the shelves stocked. It's terrible. I've been after a box of their 27p Value Facial tissues for the last 3 weeks and its never been in stock when I've been in (and I'm usually in every other day) - either they are flying off the shelves as soon as they are put on the shelf, or Sainsburys are having problems supplying it. This seems to be the case with a lot of other products..........so I tend to do my big shop elsewhere where I know I can get what I want, when I want0

They obvioulsy werent ready for the expansion, have you tried speaking to the grocery manager or who the non food dept comes under, i find if you are on good terms with the grocery manager or manager of that section then they might be more forthcoming in helping youNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
The large free range egg is a rarity now, loads of medium or large standard. The only free range large are the mega expensive organic ones.

The way they are removing branded goods and replacing them with sometimes inferior sainsburies ones is really annoying me. Can't find dolmio lasagna sheets now - anywhere, entmans carrot cake, warburtons crumpets, bonne maman strawberry jam have all disappeared from my Sainsburies0
