I get the message on my buying account when I log in -BeardyWeirdy wrote: »The number is a scam. I recieved the emailmyself. checked the senders details, they were not ebays. Reported the scam to the REAL ebay, they got back to me and confiremd it was a scam.
If you forward any email to ebay, even the ones you know are legitimate, such as sold item emails, confirmation of winning items etc, they all come back confirmed as a scam... It's for this reason I rarelt bother reporting anything, as the chances are it is just an auto-responder at the other end, not a real person investigating.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

This scam is alive and well and rather worryingly they seemed to know info about my ebay account, A gentleman called Chris called me and said he was calling from ebay customer support as I am having a lot of issues with ebay at the moment (read my post under the ebay section titled "ebay scam if you are looking to sell using ebay my advice don't do it") the number he told me I had to call back on was 0911 6991010 not only is this premium rate it is a number used to clone mobile phones, Rather worryingly this "Chris" knew the status of my account, I said I would not call back I had tried to call ebay enough times and was already out of credit due to this, he then suggested I went to the shop and put £50!!! on my phone !!!!!!??? at this point I accused him of being a conman and he hung up, I have now received an email from the auction helpline not suggesting they are any part of ebay and requesting I call them I am saving that email as part of my case against ebay as they have obviously given out my information. I hope they all go to prison for a long time.0
