Untapped Money- afiliate links discussion

I’ve been matched betting for a few months now and every time I sign up to a new bookmaker I try and go through money back site like quidco. However I have noticed that there are a few bookmakers which are not on any of the cashback sites. My general idea was to set up a site with affiliate links to the bookmakers which cashback can't be had and then give the money earned from these links to fund good causes.:A

Good idea, but it would be hard to get it off the ground. I don't think bookies would offer a significant amount of cashback to an individual for referring users to them if they don't offer a RAF scheme. After you've taken into account your time and website hosting costs, the result would be very small.
If you do try this, good luck.Competition wins: Where's Wally Goody Bag, Club badge branded football, Nivea for Men Goody Bag0 -

If this would be used predominantly by matched bettors then maybe the bookies would notice and close accounts opened through it?0

A reason why some bookmakers are not on cash back sites is because they will not allow incentive schemes. Many of the existing cash back offers could be higher but the cash back sites are restricted in how much they can offer.0

It is a good idea in theory. Unfortunately MSE rules mean that this would need to remain a theoretical idea as you can't advertise your own site or post affiliate links even on the referrals board.
The affiliate link ban is a bit of a shame. I believe it was institued to stop people setting up affilite links to sites and not disclosing that they were being payed, so making money but not sharing the wealth. It also was being abused by people touting pyramid schemes. The down side is that, if the money payed is shared with the person who uses the link, the end effect is little different to a normal referral so it closes the door to what could be a good way of making the most out of an offer.
Betrescue makes it's money from these affiliate links, as do Rpoints etc so I don't think there's any major reason why you shouldn't be able to do so. The problem will be once you've set up the site letting people know about it
without breaking forum rules
PS I don't have any affiliate links to flog, so don't start PMing me for them!"To be is to do" - Socrates. "To do is to be" - Jean-Paul Sartre."Do be do be do" - Frank Sinatra. "Scooby Dooby Doooo" - Scooby Doo. "Boop de Doop de Boo" - Betty Boo.0 -

I don't know whether bookies monitor which sites their affiliate links are being used on or not."To be is to do" - Socrates. "To do is to be" - Jean-Paul Sartre."Do be do be do" - Frank Sinatra. "Scooby Dooby Doooo" - Scooby Doo. "Boop de Doop de Boo" - Betty Boo.0 -
You might find charities unwilling to accept the money if they know where it has come from.[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]

Its not a bad idea at all. I have never understood how rpoints gets away with both giving cashback and MB advice .. but they do .. so its possible.
Clearly there is a reason why these sites only offer some bookies and not others and I would imagine its prominence. That is, if say BGbet would earn you 10% of what coral would earn then I think site owners say lets ditch the tiddlers and focus on the big ones. i.e. for every ten people who go to BGbets would only equate to one person going to coral. So, why clutter up the site with small fry.
However, there is a gap in the market for this .. but a lot of work .. and it may not be very profitable as unless you can give an added incentive then why would people go via your site.0 -
Course, we could just go through thegamblingtimes.com and get £5 for joining anywhere (even tiddlers like betlads). We're not that site's intended traffic though; full disclosure I do know the owner (only realized recently that I knew him - he doesn't identify himself on TGT!) , but he actually loses money if too many matched bettors take his money, because he's on percentage revenue share with alot of those sites, and it'll be negative revenue alot of the time due to taking free money and withdrawing full balance. Always check cashbackcompare.ip3.co.uk first, alot of sites you can get more than £5 (these are the very sites he's hoping you'll join through his site...). To be honest, I don't know why he doesn't realize these revenue share ones are gonna lose him money...0
