Pringles as in the crisps

I checked on their website yesterday, as my friend is having a party and wants to know what Pringles I can eat (I'm a coeliac). It says:
So I passed this information on to my friend, and she bought some "Tomato and Mozzarella" ones. I read the packet just out of interest, and they contain wheat flour! I'm fuming!
If I hadn't read the (extremely small) ingredients list I could've been very ill! And I deliberately checked so that I could eat them!

All Pringles are gluten-free except Paprika and Curry flavour which have a low level of breadcrumbs used in the seasoning.

Pringles are a real problem for coeliacs as they are made in several different factories.
Some flavours made in some countries are GF but the same flavour made in a different factory are not. Most people on the coeliac list I read avoid them all.
I believe the latest version of the coeliac directory advises against eating any of them.
Also the coeliac community is split at the moment about food labelling, something that is naturally gluten free, like an apple, cannot be labelled as gluten free, but something where gluten has been removed can be called gluten free even though under current labelling legislation it can still contain trace elements of gluten.
PM me if you want details of the Coeliac list.

Unfortunately many people with CD do not show an immediate reaction to gluten so internal damage would be difficult to isolate to a particular product. The new labelling legislation coming into force will make things even more difficult as minor contamination with gluten is allowed even in gluten free foods.

I will assume that you forgot the smiley because I would to hate to think that you are promoting lying, thieving and cheating your way to a fraudulent claim .. there are enough bottom feeding low lifes in this society doing that without others promoting it.Nikkinewcomer wrote:Well they don't know ya didn't eat them do they????
