unfair dispute

I sold an item, but after 7 days and 2 emails to buyer later I received no response and no payment so I opened up an unpaid item dispute. I finally heard from buyer who said they would pay and needed details how to GRRRRRRR they had recorded comments showing they previously bought stuff so know how ebay works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After several more emails sent asking for payment they replied saying payment was posted and please would I not leave neg feedback as new and handling 2 other disputes.....
After another week of waiting for the payment that had been 'posted' I received payment into my paypal account late one evening... Fantastic i thought only to find the very next morning they had only opened up a dispute to say item not recieved!!!!!!!!!!!! hang on a mo after over 2 weeks of waiting for payment they had just paid late the night previous..... Are they so stupid to think item would be posted late at night when post office shut!!!! nevermind I had to wait weeks for payment and then say I in the wrong....... Has anyone else experienced this? and i was always so nice and understanding towards them:mad:

You cannot open an item not received until a timespan has elapsed (14 days i think) so seems like this was a deliberate attempt to try and not pay send the item on a special delivery or recorded at the least (recorded wont always supply a proof of delivery so if item is expensive then cover yourself with SD)

Check your paypal..an item not received dispute can only be opened 7 days after payment, so if payment was made on a sunday a dispute could not have been opened on the monday.

I do find though that those who pay slowly tend to be the ones who want their goods the fastest...

This has happened twice to me in the past - one buyer even said in their INR dispute (opened a few minutes after their payment had finally been sent) - "see how you like a dispute being opened on you then".

For some reason they left me a positive, but I took great pleasure in leaving them a red blob. And even more pleasure ignoring their mutual withdrawal requests, especially as they gathered a few negs and neutrals for pulling similar stunts.

I fear that there may well be a lot of this activity when the new feedback rules kick in.

Sending recorded is always prudent after receiving payment during a NPB dispute though. I just do not trust these sort of people, and in future all buyers will be judged by their low standards, just as many sellers are judged by the scammers' standards.
