Our current deal with the Cheshire is due to end on 30th April and we received a letter and a leaflet with all the deals on offer to us.
I phoned to make an appointment and was told that they were very busy and couldn't get an advisor to talk to me until Friday 14th March.
On Friday I waited for the call which never came . .
 .
If I'd have phoned them I would have got 25 minutes of "Take That" singing at me which I don't think anyone should have to endure
I went onto their website only to find that they had put all their rates up and the deal I wanted will now cost me 30 quid a month more.I have fired an email registering my displeasure but their admin is pretty cr4p. I've had trouble with them before .This might be time to go !

im in the process of leaving the cheshire and remortgaging with first direct, there customer service is cr*p in my opinion, if i had a query etc its usually 10 mins plus before you get to speak to anyone.
i too had an appointment for a cheshire advisor to ring me about the products and costs, they didnt ring me either on the day, so i had to ring them again and re-book another.
they were offering me 5.99% 5 year fix as an existing customer - not competitive at all, so i remortgaged with first direct, 10 year fix at 5.15%.(saving me a small fortune)
f.d have excellent customer services, answer the phone quick and are really polite and helpfull.impressed so far !
if you get a better deal leave them - they will only offer whats on the website plus a couple of uncompetitive products for existing lenders. i told them what id been offered and there attitude was "we cant make up products for an individual" i understand that myself but wasnt impressed with the general attitude.
easy to remortgage, ive done it all myself, no broker involved.
 good luck0

My fixed rate deal runs out on the 30th April so i,m in exactly the same position as you.
I was going to go into a branch and ask them if they would match other deals on the market but i don,t think i will bother because it seems i,ll be wasting my time now i have read this thread .
So after 10 years with the Cheshire it looks like i,m taking my business elsewhere!
 Their loss not mine!0

There is no haggling or matching of deals. There is a credit crunch going on and monies are tight.
Why not speak to a broker? Let them sit on the phone for hours.0

Their maybe a credit crunch but four things that will happen for certain in my eyes is life, death, tax and the banks/building societys will make their HUGE profits no matter what!
As for speaking to a broker....erm...No offence but no thanks....0
