British Gas. How crazy is this?

I signed up for paper free bills with BG for Gas and Electricity and to my surprise, they sent me some energy saving bulbs. I don't like them but it but you don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Guess what? This morning I had an electricity bill from them in the post, and to make matters more difficult, because I live in Wales, don't speak Welsh), I had to decipher where the Welsh and English words changed on the bill as they are all lumped together. Still, cheaper than having a English bill and a Welsh one! Saving the planet?? They're having a laugh

If you read the small print, after you sign for paperless billing, you will get one further printed bill and this should be the last one.

As for the Welsh printed bill, I am certain that is not something that BG want to send, but if they don't send them out, they incur the wrath of the more extreme(and stupid) of the Welsh Nationalists.

Yes, I know that, but I have been on paperless billing for some months now and this printed bill has just turned up. I could have understoood it if it happened at the beginning of the cycle but not now

It's possible that some sort of back office process sent this one. Is it about the right time for your quarterly one? Is the online bit still letting you in?
If they get a few bounce backs they have to send you a paper bill, and they tend to move you off it.
As to the Welsh bit, any largeish company has to provide bilingual material, and BG do this by giving every field (account number, phone number etc) two titles - one English, one Welsh. From what I remember (been exiled over 10 years now) quite a few companies do it this way.
