Car Insurance problem

I have driven lease cars through work for almost 8 years now.

Never insured a car in this period.

Before the lease car i have proof of 5 years NCB (letter 8 years old)

I want to insure my own car now.

I had an incident in a petrol station where my car was damaged by a car wash about 2yrs ago. Outcome unknown companies insurance dealt with it.

Problem i have is i presume i declare this as an accident and try to find out what happened if i can? I am unsure of how to proceed with online applications.

Can i put down i have driven a company car with no claims since then. It's a lease car i don't pay company car tax.

Am i entitled to any no claims since this incident, and if so should i approach my employer or their insurer?

Got a feeling my driving a lease car will not count for anything, yet they will take this incident into account regardless and make me pay.

Thanks

  • Hi there

If you have a Fleet Manager at work, ask them for a letter from the lease company confirming your driving history. This will confirm what accidents you have had, when they were and what the outcome was. You should then be able to use that as proof of no claims.
