Can anyone recommend a website for Business cover car insurance.
Only needed a couple of times a month and normally hire a car but would prefer to use my own. (can claim 45p a mile expenses!)

AFAIK there's no one specific for this, business use is a normal extention to virtually any car insurance policy - just ask the company when you get a quote.if it's more than 10 stone, and that hairy, it's probably not a dog...it may be a wookie.0

Are you sure you need business insurance?
Lots of policies covering social domestic and pleasure also have wordings like use for the personal business of the policyholder.
Can you expand on how you use the car? If you are self employed and travelling to somewhere on your business, you may already be covered. it's always best to check with your insurance company first though.*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

Not self employed, work full time for a small company.
Just use the car to visit customers for meetings.
“personal business of the policyholder”
I had read this on a quote I got but not sure if I would be covered? I would be using the car while at work and going for a meeting for the company I work for.0 -
It's one of those things that each company probably has their own take on!
You should emphasise that you are going to one place to work and then back again.
You aren't using your car as a rep or a courier! The job I do is from home, but I have to go out to different places from time to time. This is okay without extra premium as I am going to my place of work and then back again. Iam not using the car on business, but to get me to my place of work. In your case, your place of work also changes from time to time and you use your car to commute to those places.
Explain it fully to your insurance company, and if they want to charge you much extra, get other quotes!
I'm with esure and there's no premium difference. I think our policies (2 cars) cover the personal business use of policy holder and spouse as standard.*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

Thanks Mumstheword
Just tried confused.com and they have a section for the number of Business
miles so that looks ok, will check what the individual quotas say.
"Business Use - this covers you to use the car in connection with your job, driving to different sites, travelling to training courses or prearranged meetings away from your normal place of work. "
My current insurance (esure) runs out in November and I pay by DD. If I want to move now will they arrange a final figure to stop the insurance on an agreed date when my new insurance cover starts or do I have to wait till November.0 -
No you can move at any time, but you may not get a full refund for the time left, and you are so close to november that it would be a shame to miss out on your almost-earned year of ncd!
phone them and check if you are covered on your existing policy for this use!
pretty sure that ours is with esure and we are covered for this use.

You can add business use to most existing car insurance policies. Charges vary. Some will add it on free of charge, if it isn't going to increase your estimated mileage a great deal.
Most companies will charge about £20 - £30 to add it on to existing policies. It doesn't tend to affect the cost of a policy if added on to the start, so long as the mileage isn't going to be that high.0 -
My cover is with Esure and I'm automatically covered for business use of the policyholder. As a teacher this also covers taking pupils in my own car - although to be honest I don't think I'll be doing that.0
