How much Have I Downloaded?

I read somewhere that AOL have now put an unofficial cap of 10gb per month for all their customers.

Can my router tell me how much I have downloaded? It's a Netgear DG834G.

I have heard Netmeter tells you but you would need to load it on every computer.

It suprised me that 5 hours general surfing a day only uses 1gb per month. Is that correct?

Yes general web surfing doesn't use a great deal of bandwidth.

If you download a lot of things through BitTorrent etc. that is what really pushes up the figures. With my ISP, Nildram, there is a facility in the account controls on their web site to check your usage to see how much of the quota (50gb a month in my case) you have remaining. I've yet to get close to the 50gb a month mark..
