I live in a 2 bedroom flat, work 6 days a week 9am -5:30pm . some nights im not in at all. when i am in i use normal stuff etc. 1 TV, sky box etc..
I heat 1 room with an oil filled radiator which has a thermastat cut out..
my only source of power is electricity, i cook one a night usually less than 30 minutes.
Go to bed before midnight.
The flat is empty all day with everything switched off exept for the fridge freezer..
Im with Eon... and im convinced im being fleeced... can someone give me a ball park monthly or yearly running costs for the above living habbits..
I have no central heating just a water heater..

  • Just like to add:-

primary rate = 16.57p (Nov -Feb 242 Units used)
secondary rate = 9.28 (Nov - Feb 2028 units used)

I seam to use far more secondary units, surely the cheaper rate (secondary) is the night rate??

I use almost no electricity from midnight - 8am

switch to ebico/southern electric flat rate off 9.90 per unit no first or secondary just a flat rate...no standing charge go through quidco or uswitch to get something back either money or wine usually...do it now I did it 18 months ago and have never looked back...Eon are a rip off...:)

    Plans for 2009

No secondary units are not night units.

Primary units are just a way of getting you to pay a standing charge. You pay at the primary rate for the first xx units per quarter and then all the rest at secondary rate.

The above bill will be approx £228 which for electric heating(on a daytime tariff) for a 2 bed apartment in winter is high, but not unexpected.

The post giving the prices for Ebico doesn't mean a lot as the prices vary across the country and unless you live in the same area your prices will be different! Also it is expected that Ebico's prices will increase soon.

Incidentally even using the Ebico prices given(9.9p) would mean that you would save less than £4, which hardly makes E-ON a rip-off and Ebico cheap!
