my laptop won't charge the battery when power lead is plugged in the battery light just keeps flickering on and off, sometimes charging for a little while other times not at all. but when battery is not in the power lead works the laptop fine. do you think its the battery or something wrong with charging the battery.the laptop is about 2 years old and its a ibm thinkpad r50e

In my experience laptop batteries rarely last more than a couple of years before they need replacing - it's like all batteries I suppose, sooner or later they die.0
