There's only one PC that isn't near the phone line so if each PC needs an adapter that costs £30- £45

The wireless cards in the link in my other post are much cheaper than the price you mention. Here is one for £12.92 http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=64618

Your right...If you don't have a network card built in.

Deffo getthe modem/router with the free wireless dongle and then just purchase either a seperate wireless network card or network card (which will entail opening up the case to fit) or buy another USB wireless dongle and just run both off wireless.

Couldn't find details on the model number but I'd assume that as your puter is around 31/2 years old and a tiny, there is a high probablity it will have a build in network card

Sounds like you were ripped off.

I would always recommend having one wired connection to a router. Often the wireless is turned off in the default settings. If you don't have a wired connection you can't set it up. They are also useful for troubleshooting if there are any problems with the wireless setup.

Can you download CPU-Z from http://www.cpuid.org/cpuz.php (click 1.30 part of the way down) and post the Mainboard information back here?
