as far as i am aware they have to have an adult with them to at least make the booking or give permission in writing..0

There is no legal impediment to them travelling as such - but because they are under 18 they cannot enter into legally binding contracts therefore most holiday companies won't deal with them.0

My son and mates went last year at 17 - they booked flights and apartment independently. Check they have insurance, it's might not be top of their list of things to do!0

Most tour operators won't take a party unless there is at least one 18 year old. And for those under 18 a written approval from the parent/guardian is needed if not travelling with them.
The independant route would be an option though.0 -
Independantly should be no problem. My son + girlfriend stayed in Sol Melia Hotel in Majorca when 17. Easyjet flights0

My son went last year with a friend to Rome, Naples and Sorrento when they were 17. He booked on a budget airline and stayed in hotels booked independently without any problem0

thank you every one, and yes we will sort out insurance for them as I am sure they may try and sort it out but then not read small print0

I have a feeling my son could only be insured under my annual travel policy0

sunset holidays and club 18-30 will take them as long as there is a letter of consent from all parents and 1 parent signed the booking form'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0
