Woolworths gift vouchers

Don't know if this is the right heading, but has anyone else beaten the Woolworths gift voucher system?

I have been given a number of vouchers for my birthday, and there is nothing decent in my local Woolworths. There are however things on the internet which could be of interest, but I am told by them that you cannot use the vouchers on-line, despite beng the same store?

It seems you can only now use the vouchers at MVC or Woolworths, no longer B & Q.

Does anyone have any suggestions how else I can use the money?

Thank you.

You can only use them instore, you cant really beat the system unless you sell them to a friend or relative making a purchase their.

Or give them away yourself as presents...but obviously not to the people that gave them to you in the first place.

Woolworths has some good CDs very cheap on occasions. Also DVDs and Games. They also do some DIY stuff. They were the cheapest for silicone sealant in my local search recently. I can sympathise though:

'Vouchers: like money, only not so good'

maybe not such a good advertising slogan!

This can make you look a bit sad. Still whatever you are comfortable with!
  • you can still use them at b&Q although if you subsequently ask for a refund you wil get B&Q credit notes as B&Q are no longer part of kingfisher.

How about Comet- can you no longer use them there?

But dont get spotted, or they will kick you out. Something about not being able to sell in somebody elses space or something.

Or sell them on ebay, they practically go for the same amount anyway :

  • My first post...hope I don't mess up and say something I shouldn't!

The following has worked for me in the past.

1 Buy item with gift vouchers.

2 Exchange at another till for more expensive item and pay difference in cash.

3 Refund more expensive item and many checkout assistants will give you cash back.

Obviously it is very important that you go to the youngest and most inexperienced assistants for steps 2 and 3.

    Hope that helps.

even worse, woolies now offer you online items to buy instore. i tried this as had vouchers, but they would only accept credit cards...had an arguement with the manager, as said i would not have bothered coming into store, if could have bought stuff at home on the net, but has only said it was a new 'service'.

Please don't argue with the manager it is not their fault. If their is no option on screen to pay with vouchers then how are we supposed to take vouchers off you?

OP: You can use your vouchers to top-up your mobile.
