    Are you in England ?

I think you can get a quickie divorce in England.. Fill in the paperwork and after a few weeks its done. I dont know how much it costs.

Scottish Law... As long as there are no dependants, and you have been separated for at least a year, then once the paper work has been filled out by yourself, and signed by your lawyer, and you have paid your cash (between 60-70 pounds) , then it will take about 6 weeks for your divorce to come through.

There is a Which guide to divorce, which is very useful - as a message above says, in England it is very straightforward.

Make a visit to your local county court, they will have all of the forms and info you need for a DIY divorce.
  • I know this is an old thred, but if any1 else finds it like I did, my sisters' using something called Lawhound + its' under £70.

If you want to do it yourself, then just go to the courts and get their help.

Make sure there is nothing i.e. pensions or inheritance that you are missing out on.

You need ground... 2 years apart with consent, adultery or unreasonable behaviour.

If you haven't been apart for 2 years, I suggest you go for unreasonable behaviour and try to keep this as amicable as possible... thinks like never tidying up, leaving clothes around, being of no support, going out and not phoning etc will all be enough, but may be hurtful to read.
