Hi,
I have several hundred A4 pages of text I need to scan, import to Word, edit and re-print but am completely new to the world of scanners.
Can anyone recommend a flat-bed scanner and/or an all-in-one jobbie (scanner/copier/fax, etc.) for under £100.
I don't think I'll ever need to produce high-resolution scans of photos or scan negatives, so something basic should do.
Thanks for any help.

Whats the diffrence between the DX8450 and the DX84000

There is one critical error in the above solutions, they leave you with a "picture" of the document that is not editable.
What software do you have to convert to text?
You will require OCR software working with a scanner. When complete you need to print back at high quality so will print to a B/W laser.
The laser will not run out of ink as the inkjets will.
I use a Brother printer copier/printer/scanner and comes with free Paper Port OCR softare for WinXP. Brother also gave me an updated version (v11) for Vista.

Thanks, everyone.
To edit the documents, I'm going to try "Microsoft Office Document Imaging" and http://www.simpleocr.com/.0 -
